1954 Maxim 750 Pumper

Note:

  • The model is built using photos and measurements of the real truck.  Sheet plastic was used for the construction of the cab and body but with sheet brass used for the hood and cab doors.  Renshape and porch plastic railing stock was used for the front and rear fenders.
  • The Hercules engine is scratch built as well and is modeled after photos of the real truck engine and images found on line.
The headlight surrounds and front bumper are brass with nickel plating.  The siren on the fender is turned aluminum with two part resin front and painted Tamiya clear red.

  • Hose is stained sewing elastic.   Booster reel hose is electric wire.   Paint is Duplicolor #398 red over gray primer.  Decals are computer generated and printed on an ALPS printer.

1967 International Loadstar Brush Truck

Note:

  • Modeled after an existing rig with several photos and many measurements taken to build the model.  The cab was created from a Ford kit cab and modified by cutting the fender off, reversing them front to rear and side by side to obtain the IH look.  The hood and fenders are made of Renshape.
  • The original cab, fenders and hood were sent to AITM and cast in resin for building the model.  Body is sheet plastic and lower bar work is plastic tubing.  Upper brush bars are soldered brass rods.  Hose is sewing elastic stained with Tamiya acrylic tan.
Honda pump in rear is plumbed and wired.

  • Butterfly hood was hinged with brass hinges.  Doors also have brass hinges that are hidden in the cab sides.  Paint is Duplicolor  #398 red with black semi-gloss black.  Decals created from photos of the real ones, downsized and printed on ALPS.  Tires are resin castings made from 3D master.
